Online shopping website, Shopawl, announced on Tuesday that it would start accepting bitcoin on eBay orders.

Shopawl accepts bitcoin as well as any altcoins supported by Shapeshift as the company uses ShapeShift’s Shifty button to accept altcoins. Earlier this month, the company also started accepting Steem, the cryptocurrency that powers the social media platform Steemit.
According to Shopawl’s website:
“Shopawl accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Steem, Dogecoin, Dash Local Bank Transfers (Pakistan), EasyPaisa (Pakistan) and tons of other altcoins.”
Loosely similar to Purse, users make purchases by going to eBay, selecting the desired product, and pasting the link into Shopawl.
“Make sure that seller ships to your country,” the service states on its blog. After payment is received, Shopawl will then send the user a receipt and process the order on eBay. Products are then shipped directly to customers.
“We recommend you to select the trusted seller, which have a trust rating above 95% on eBay,” the company advises.
“Fees for eBay orders will be 4%,” Shopawl notes. However, for customers paying with bitcoin, ether or any altcoin, the “fees will be just 2%,” according to the website’s FAQ page. There are no additional fees and the company claimed it would “try to minimize [fees] in future.”
In addition to eBay, users can also purchase goods on banggood.com, a leading Chinese online shopping store specializing in computer software research and development with over 150,000 products. Shopawl is a dropshipper of Banggood.com.
EBay Inc. is a leading e-commerce company providing online consumer-to-consumer and business-to-consumer sales services. At the beginning of 2016, there were 162 million eBay users and approximately 25 million eBay sellers, with about one billion eBay live listings at any given time. In 2015, eBay’s gross merchandise volume sold amounted to $82 billion USD.
For now, the company is not offering its service for products on eBay‘s main rival, Amazon. However, users can already purchase items on Amazon.com through Purse.io at discounted prices. Savings vary, but “shoppers save an average of 20%,” according to Purse.io’s website. “Earners with gift cards will purchase your order in exchange for bitcoin, and Purse Escrow ensures a safe transaction.”
