On October 13, Purse.io launched native international shipping support. This new development opens the door for more shoppers in areas Amazon does not serve. The new integration, with USendHome, caters to shoppers who want an in-app solution. USendHome also provides additional guarantees such as product pictures, advanced package tracking and fast shipping. Even better — they accept payment in Bitcoin.

Purse also appeared in the news recently with its launch of Bcoin, a Javascript-based Bitcoin library, and a partnership with Indian Bitcoin company Unocoin.
Those unfamiliar with Purse.io’s services, can tune into a recent podcast Bitcoin.com did with Purse co-founder Kent Liu. Not only does Purse.io enable customers to pay for Amazon products and services in Bitcoin, it also secures top discounts.
Purse formed the partnership to serve all customers worldwide. This includes customers using the Buy Now and Name Your Discount features to receive packages at a USendHome facility. Customers can also utilize one-click reshipment and receive packages at their home address. Amazon sends all shipment notifications directly to the customer, without third party interference.
Purse originated the USendHome partnership after it noticed increasing customer concerns with shipping forwarders’ security. With a global customer base, Purse frequently sees packages shipped to Venezuela, Singapore, Canada and the Philippines.
With international customer numbers growing, the company then evaluated several shipping forwarders and found USendHome provided the best options in security and expediency.
Purse’s founder and CEO, Andrew Lee, told Bitcoin.com:
“At Purse, we’re committed to flattening the world with Bitcoin. When we first noticed packages being sent to shipping forwarders, we assumed privacy-conscious shoppers. After talking to our top customers, we learned that the vast majority of these orders were being shipped internationally to countries including Venezuela, Singapore, Canada, and the Philippines. American goods are very popular overseas, and they sell for insane premiums,” said Lee.
“After evaluating all the shipping forwarders, we found USendHome to be a clear winner and convinced them to accept Bitcoin. We built a seamless integration – shoppers can generate a US address with 1 click. They will get notified of delivery and receive a picture of the delivery so they can release escrow. USendHome consolidates packages to minimize shipping costs and take care of customs.”
With the USendHome partnership, international users gain not only a simplified payment flow, but also Amazon products at a discount.
Purse’s research showed international customers’ demand for access to Amazon goods — but also revealed their struggle to find appropriate shipping methods. Moreover, it wanted to give them the option to pay in Bitcoin from start to finish.
