How to Run a Bitcoin Classic Node on Synology Disk Stations in Just 3 Steps

In the most recent version of Synology Disk Station manager DSM 5.2 they have added support for Docker.  Docker makes it super easy for anyone with a Synology Disk Station to run a full Bitcoin Classic node.  This excellent tool allows several customizations that make your Disk Station much more powerful while still simple to use.

Step 1

Install the Docker package:

Once Docker has installed, open it, and search the registry for “bitcoinclassic” Highlight the one you want, and click “Download”

Step 3

Once the image has downloaded, select it, and then choose “Launch With Wizard”

Follow the wizard steps:

That’s it! Everything should be up and running!

The other things you may want to check are: 1. Make sure your router is forwarding port 8333 to your Synology Disk Station so it can communicate properly with the Bitcoin network. 2. Check and see if your node is reachable from the outside internet. There is a great tool for checking here.
