6 Terahash Per Second (THS) Average Consistent Hashrate

Founded in 2013, Canaan (canaan.io) has been creating leading ASIC microprocessor devices since its inception. Since the company launched the first SHA-256 FPGA to its current AvalonMiner ASIC miners, the firm continues to innovate. Now the company has revealed the AvalonMiner 721 ROQ Solid Miner — which stands for “Reliable Open Quality.”

Canaan explains the AvalonMiner 721 utilizes the company’s latest A3212 processor with TSMC’s 16 nm process and Smart Layout. The device has 72 x A3212 chips under the hood to enable a 6 Terahash per second (THS) average consistent hashrate. Additionally, the device uses 900-1200 watts and is designed for reliable mining longevity.

“The AvalonMiner 721 is ROQ Solid. Canaan’s goal with our new miner is to make the most reliable open quality miner that will hash the most reliably and consistently for our customers,” Canaan’s CEO N.G. Zhang told Bitcoin.com. “From the advanced A3212 chip to Aluminum PCBs to Smart Cooling and Smart Frequency Adjustment, even the simple price of the AvalonMiner 721 is a ROQ Solid datacenter miner.”

Open Source With Option to Manage Twenty Machines

The latest AvalonMiner product’s software is completely open source and utilizes a fully upgradable firmware. Moreover, the miner uses “Off the Shelf Simple” power supplies, controller software, and the Open Source AvalonMiner Management Software (AMS) for managing installations. Canaan doesn’t want clients to hassle with tinkering with machine operation, as the company’s primary mission is to provide better hardware for data centers.

“Canaan’s goal is to help you manage datacenters, not machines. With flexible open operation, the AvalonMiner 721 is designed to scale so you may control your data center,” explains Xiangfu Liu, VP of Engineering at Canaan. ”We believe in open source and that building transparent blockchain technology strengthens our customers.”

The AvalonMiner 721 comes with the miner, a USB converter called the AvalonMiner USB2IIC Converter 3 (AUC3), and an AUC3 cable — all with a 90-day full warranty. The product is roughly 340 mm x 136 mm x 150mm in size and weighs around 4.3 kg, 0.7 kg lighter than its predecessor. With the AUC3 converter users may connect up to five AvalonMiner 721s together. Furthermore, for maximum usage users can connect the AvalonMiner Controller to up to 4 x  AUC3, which reliably assists you to manage twenty AvalonMiner 721s reaching up to 120 THS.

Growing the Blockchain

Canaan hopes to continue to “grow the blockchain” by offering resources to the data center industry. The firm is a big believer in Blockchain technology and is pleased to enable mining solutions to both large data centers and individuals mining from home. Canaan states it is 100% focused on “growing and building innovations for customers.” Over the past three years, the company has grown to a 100 person team that has outlasted several competitors.

“We cannot stop pushing innovation forward or be distracted with anything less than bringing the best high-quality products with the best service to the world,” stated Canaan CEO, N.G. Zhang this past September from the company’s website.

The AvalonMiner 721 ROQ Solid Miner is one more reliable mining product the firm has to offer. The AvalonMiner 721 is $888 USD with global shipments beginning Monday, November 21.
