Blockchain.info has just released its new hierarchical deterministic wallet for Android and IOS users today. The veteran service which began in 2011 has been servicing the community for quite some time. After years of the being one of the most popular wallets in the industry, the service now boasts close to 6 million wallets in existence. The company is proud to unveil its latest application for the crypto-community and looks forward to continuing servicing the industry.

Now users can head over to Google Play or the App Store and download Blockchain.info’s latest wallet. The version comes with a bunch of new features the team is proud to share with the public after working hard on the new interface. The release they say adds “enhanced privacy” with the implemented hierarchical deterministic (HD) addresses to avoid address reuse. Address reuse often can take away a user’s privacy because it’s far simpler to determine your identity and location by using the same address multiple times. An HD wallet interface gives people a new address every time making it harder for snoops to invade your transaction history.
The new HD wallet the team says has a “Robust security center! With six simple steps to secure your wallet.” Which includes adding a twelve-word mnemonic recovery phrase if your phone is stolen, lost or damaged. This means a user can recover their funds by typing in the seed phrase at a desktop or another location if something bad were to happen. Another feature added to the UI is a custom funds management tool which enables a person to organize their bitcoins by purpose. Lastly, the wallet comes with a touch ID option if someone would prefer to use an alternative method to the PIN. Quite a bit of development and hard work went into the new roll out, and Blockchain.info is pleased to showcase the latest release.
Blockchain.info has come a long way since its inception and the first Android and IOS releases in 2012. In February of 2014, Apple had banned Blockchain.info and all Bitcoin wallets from its App Store and Itunes. Many people in the community were quite unpleased about the banning, even releasing a video of destroying an iPhone that went viral. In the month of July 2014, Apple let Blockchain.info back into the app store and it’s been available ever since. The service believes the latest HD wallet app with new features will remain a top wallet contender in 2016. The company hopes it will continue to please its ever growing base of close to 6 million wallet users and bring Bitcoin adoption to the next level.
