The Eindhoven-based Clevercoin has been servicing the Netherlands since its inception in October of 2013. The company boasts 15,000 users who can buy, sell, and store bitcoins with the service. The business says you can buy directly from the exchange for “the best prices with SEPA, SOFORT, Giropay, iDEAL & credit card.— [sic] We are a legal entity operating fully under Dutch law.” Now that Airbitz has partnered with the platform this will enable their wallet users to purchase the digital currency within the wallet interface. Airbitz’ Community Manager MK Lords told Bitcoin.com:

The Eurozone stands to benefit quite a bit from this integration, and we’re proud to be able to help them gain access to a currency and payment system that’s completely voluntary. Some of the countries have suffered from currency crises, and Bitcoin provides a high-tech, easy to use alternative. Clevercoin is also a very reputable exchange that we’re happy to partner with to make this process possible for millions more people around the world.

Airbitz tells us the feature will be available in these 19 countries:

Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain.

A few weeks ago, Airbitz announced that U.S. and Canadian users could enjoy the same service with its Glidera implementation. Airbitz wants to keep expanding until they can cover just about everyone. By introducing the buy/sell feature, using security that gives their users financial autonomy, and also partnering with Fold this year, the company believes its wallet will help streamline adoption. CEO and co-founder of Airbitz, Paul Puey, is thrilled with the expansion stating:

We’re excited about our expansion to Europe and happy to do it with our awesome partners Clevercoin. We aim to build a global brand enabling people to easily buy, sell, secure, send, and receive Bitcoin and this launch is a key piece of that goal. We look forward to expanding this service in 2016 and doing so while retaining our core beliefs in never holding custody of users’ data, keys, or funds.

says this is just the beginning of the 2016 year for them, and they have more great things to come. “We aim to bring Bitcoin to the next billion users through amazingly simple yet feature rich applications focused on ease of use and ease of security,” states the company. With its expansion to 19 countries in Europe and adding a new office in the Canton of Zug, the wallet service believes it’s making headway towards that goal.
